Our Campaign

The goal of the campaign Global Ageing is to bring the issue of global ageing and its effects on global development cooperation to the public attention in Europe.

Based on international and European resolutions the campaign calls attention to the challenges of global ageing. The problems in sub-Saharan Africa are especially highlighted.

Educational and cultural programs are scheduled to foster sensitivity for the worldwide challenges of ageing and to promote transnational collaborations of old and young. Networks and co-operations between elderly persons from the south and the north are planned. Together they are able to demand rights for older people in developing countries and adequate attention in development policies.

The campaign Global Ageing is carried out by HelpAge Deutschland in Germany, World Granny in The Netherlands, Global Initiative on Psychiatry in Lithuania und Foundation Sue Ryder in Poland.

The project gets financial support from the EU commission and the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
